I don’t dislike Buddy Green, but I just don’t understand the sentiments of those fans who continue to insist he’s beyond criticism. It’s one thing to have a bad defense, it’s another to regress defensively this late in the season and to give up record setting numbers to a high school coaching staff and a first year offense (props though to Dodge; the guy obviously can design an offense.) Obviously there a lot of factors at work here, but ultimately BG has to bear at least some of the responsibility for the worst defense in the country. And I think that’s a very favorable assessment on my part.
