I’m back out on the ledge. i kind of thought that he woud stay here until his daughter graduated, but if that was the case, he wouldn’t be cruising around checking out these other places. I think he’s as good as gone.

C’mon – the guy said he might listen to other offers but there’s nothing that say he has to accept them.

He’s listening to offers. I’m sure we’d do the same thing in our own employment situations – then you sit down and figure out what the best one is for you.

I don’t want the guy to go either, but I also don’t want a coach that isn’t happy and fully committed and wondering “what if?” all the time. I’m confident that at the end of the day he’ll see Navy is the best situation for him at this time.

GATech makes perfect sense as it will offer PJ that chance at major national recognition which I am sure is what he seeks.
I think he has taken Navy to the top of the mountain after delivering us ND this year.
While he will not end as the most wins – I think his legacy @ Navy is now secured.
Knowing that as many state here-he will not leave a program in shambles or on the way down.
So any fear of back to WeatherChaump is unfounded.

Never said he should not listen offers, in fact he should listen and go to the right one. He has done everything here, and I’ll bet some of us have been in jobs where there is nothing left to prove. It sucks.

I think we will be okay, I think Gladchuk is pretty savvy.

Why are people saying there is nothing left to accomplish at Navy? I think there is plenty left for PJ to accomplish at Navy. How about a consistent Top 20 (or 25) placing? Air Force did it. How about an undefeated season? How about a BCS bowl bid by a non-BCS team? Our opponent in the Poinsettia Bowl did it. I think this team has a good chance next year to accomplish something along these lines if PJ and his coaching staff can mature the defense and keep the offense at its high-octane level. And, he can do it his way, which will further his value and reputation in the coaching marketplace.

  8. True. But you said it yourself in regards to BW. We know he’s a solid reporter and he wouldn’t lead us astray. Before yesterday afternoon I genuinely believed this thing would blow over, but the latest Wagner posts really are disheartening.

The most hilarious possible outcome here would be for Troy Calhoun to go to Wake Forest and PJ to stay. Probably wishful thinking on my part, I know.

Wagner updated his blog. If it’s true that Georgia Tech has a press conference today, and if PJ and Chet are indeed meeting this morning, then I’d say it would look like Pj is coming back.

Well, it’s 10:30 and there’s no sign of the 11:00 meeting, so that source appears to have fallen through at least on that part.
